History

This building began its life at 7556 Main Street as a residence. By 1911, the Sanborn Fire Map shows the site as in use as a boarding house. In 1922, the house was again in use as a private residence, but shortly after is divided into two storefronts.

In the 1950s, Cross and Rosensteel's clothing company required a larger facility, and this house was moved backwards into the middle of what is today the McElroy parking lot, facing towards St. Paul's Church.

In 2014, the house moved again and turned 180 degrees to its present site, and since that time has housed French Twist Cafe.

For information about rentals and current use, see the Town of Syksville government-administered page for this location.
