History

Originally built in 1916 as a new building for the Sykesville Telephone Exchange, 7443 later served as a printing office of the South Carroll Herald newspaper. It is now a private residence.

Confirmed Use as of November 18, 2025:​

1916-​​1963 Sykesville Telephone Exchange for the C&P Telephone service moves from Main Street to this building before later moving to Route 32. (Sykesville Herald, 1916 clipping)

1963-1983: The South Carroll Herald (Sykesville's local newspaper which evolved from its original title the Sykesville Herald) printing office is located at this site under the ownership of Fred Church, where it operated until December 28, 1983.

2025: This site is a private residence.
